Boys will be Boys

It isn't out of the ordinary to hear me yelling at Christopher to get down, or to stop jumping on the couch, or whatever oddly animal activity he is doing. Today was no exception. "Christopher get down." "Stop jumping on your sister." "Don't jump on there.""Stop, you're going to get hurt." Well finally today may be the day he stops these things....probably not, but only time will tell. Wanna know why? He fell off the couch and scraped his whole back up! He cried for forever. Of course I was like see I told you why you are not supposed to do that. He says he wont ever do it again, but ha we will see. Lexi to says she will not be jumping on the couch. Lexi also was crying and yelling "Ba, why did you do that, you scared me. Don't do that again." Well here is the picture...kinda gross so don't look if you don't like gross things......

The First Day of School

Don't turn around my little child
don't watch me walk away...
Because I'll want to take you home
and keep you one more day...
Standing tall in brand new shoes
your hand is on the door...
If I could freeze this moment, dear
you'd be my babe once more...
But new adventures wait for you
new places and new friends...
The road ahead is wide and long
and filled with forks and bends...
It's time for us to say goodbye
you show the strength I lack...
for as I turn to leave you there
it's I who must look back...

Dreaming!

My my what a handful Christopher has been these last few weeks! Very stubborn little boy he is! But he still manages to do things I cant help but aww over. I went to check in on the kids shortly after I put them to bed and Christopher was sleeping with Lexi. He asked me if he could sleep in my bed, but I told him I wasn't going to sleep yet and he had to go back to his bed. So I guess he hopped in bed with Lexi! Such a cutie (when he is asleep) :o)

Terrific Tuesday

So today started a little rough with me and my husband, but by the days end things are always looking up. Lately, financially things are a bit tight...we manage, but his work is REALLY slow right now. This hard time frustrates us and we are easily caught up into arguements.... BUT, fingers crossed we may have a buyer for one of the cars we have for sale!!! yippy!!!! So Mondays are gymnastics days! Lexi enjoys her class very much! She always has fun and is learning things like how to listen and pay attention to the directions she is instructed by her teacher. Hopefully we can continue to put her through gymnastics even in the fall. She loved having her dad watch her today in her class. When he came in she told everyone that was her dad and then she kept watching for his approval, clap, or thumbs up after she did some sort of a flip or balance beam, or whatever she did!

I dont know who reads my blogs...but if you do, friend or not please check out a website for me! If you have little girls or know of little girls who would like bows or dresses (sizes nb-4t) please order them from this website! Send details of colors or something we dont have! We can try lots of new things! I would surely appreciate ANY business! http://2craftymomes.ecrater.com/ Pass the website along to any and all!!!!

Empanadas!!

Sundays are always a fun day around here because Henry usually doesn't have to work! The day started off quite nicely I should say. I got to sleep in and my husband got the kids breakfast all made today! How exciting for me!!! We then sat around doing nothing, and I got an idea!! I wanted to make empanadas. So I went off to the store to buy a tortilla maker and the flour and such to get myself started! I did not know what I was getting myself into. First I made the dough, and then had to roll them into balls, press them, and then stuff and fold! Not too bad...but frying them was taking a lot longer than expected. Good ole Henry came to the rescue and fried all my tostadas and empanadas. I was seriously in there for like 3 hours, and literally everything in our home smells fried! The kids at one point had to go outside because their eyes were burning from all the cooking!! BUT it was fun working in the kitchen with the hub and the food was EXCELLENT!!!! Now I can totally see why Spanish ladies are in the kitchen all day cooking...this stuff takes a lot of preparing! We fed everyone and their mom because we had made so much! We called everyone over to his parents to stop by to eat! It was definitely a fun day! Now the day is done, and I am so ready for bed! We got gymnastics tomorrow, and I think I need to do laundry so Lexi has something to wear there. I haven't boughten her a leotard yet because I want to make sure it is something she is going to keep doing before I spend the money (that we don't have) :o)

Over Due Blog

My my where does all the time go? I feel like I don't do a lot in one day, but the time just goes so quickly. Before I know it we have eaten dinner and the day is over.

We have had a very fun filled summer so far. My last blog I wrote was about adventure Island when my sister was here. Well she is gone now (been gone for some time) but while she was here we did several more fun things, including bowling, some trips to the "cookie mall" the beach, and way more! Now that she is gone, we are still keeping up with summer activities. I have found my self to be keeping some what of a "tan" (by no means tan, just not as pale as my normal self) this summer. I also find myself sweating and being absolutely disgusted with this hot weather, but hey this is Florida, that's why we swim and go into the ocean, to cool off!! Lexi has started Gymnastics. So far so good, she seems to like it. I never had the opportunity to do these things when I was little because my mom raised 4 kids all on her own, so I am VERY thankful that I can put Lexi into something. We are still looking to find something for Christopher, we are hoping soccer or karate. If he doesn't start something this summer, then he will do something while Lexi is in preschool this year! YAY!!! Monday-Friday 9-12 she is going to promise land preschool. Hopefully we can get this family into a better sleeping routine and we can all be in bed and up early for Lexi to be off! I cant wait to start this next chapter in her life. I am so excited to see my little girl grow up and learning all that she does (we could do without the miss prissy sassy attitude some days) but girls will be girls! Christopher seems to be calming down in some ways (I guess). He is still 3 and acts it! He loves wrestling with his dad (and of course Levi). He is for surely all boy...eh well kinda...when he isn't playing dress up with Lexi.... He seems to be having "growing" pains these days. Everyone says he has shot up and grown a little bit. Poor kid is feeling all of it. Other than him being a wild animal, and Lexi doing her girly thing. We seem to be having quite the fun summer. Birthday parties, baby showers, all sorts of fun things these days. Well here are a few pictures of the kiddos the last few days and one of my oh so sexy man :o) Shhhh don't tell him I put this up here, he'll kill me! He is not a picture person and I had to snap one of him b/c I just couldn't resist!

Adventure Island

Yay!! What a fun day! Yesterday was my brothers 33rd birthday and so we all got together for pizza and birthday pie :) By the time everything was over with in the evening it was after 10 o'clock...so the kids and I camped out in Grandmas living room. We stayed because we had to be up early to head to Tampa to go to Adventure Island!!! We got there bright and early (seriously the best time to go). When we first got there we got on all the big slides and water rides! The kids pretty much got to ride all the big rides (with an adult). There were a few that you couldn't go on with an adult and had to ride solo, so we skipped those, but they had a terrific little kids area. After a while the park began to fill so waiting in lines for rides was not happening anymore! The kids rode a few rides more than once and then off to the kids land! The kids played in there for a long while and we also went to visit the wave pool! SUPER fun stuff!!!! We ate lunch, took sunscreen breaks, ate Shamu ice cream, slushies, and cotton candy! Then we left, and the kids were out in the car in like two seconds! We went home cleaned ourselves up, and then headed out to the beach for a pot luck! What a fun day!

I love, love, love the summer!!!!! Cant wait to go back to Adventure Island (we got season passes)!

Fishing

So last night we went fishing!!! We have always been fisher people! We took Lexi before Christopher was born and then brought the double stroller right along after he was here! We always like to go late at night as well! We go all over. Kacy Key, down by mote, and our favorite spot right under the bridge at St. Armands! Last night we took Henry's little brother and sister along with us. First we made a trip and bought new poles and hooks and such, then out we went. Lexi and Christopher's poles are the dinky little kids ones, but wouldn't you know, they caught the most fish. Lexi caught 4 and Christopher caught 1. We always have a contest to see who can catch the most, and mostly I would win, for some reason I always caught most, but this time it was Lexi. I got some competition. Right when we got Christophers bait on and he threw it out he caught something within minutes. We hadn't even gotten everyones poles out yet!! Then came Lexi, again, and again, and yet again. Henry and I caught nothing and Henry's brother caught one fish and a sea urchin! I love the summer time when we get to go out and fish!! Hopefully we can get out on a boat like we did two years ago and fish!!

He's done it again!

Who did what you may be wondering.....?

Henry!!!!
He's done something fun but oh so very scary! I thought one of my kids might fall on their faces....

So we all like hammocks....
All kids like swings...

I don't know what they are called, but those things that are usually found in vans or SUVS to help hold groceries in your trunk space....Well Henry took one of those and made it a hammock...until it half way broke and then turned into a swing. He tied it up between a fence and a basketball hoop thing that was just barely nailed into a tree. It looked fun, but I couldn't watch b/c I thought for sure one was going to flip over and hurt themselves.

Fortunately no one was hurt and this occupied the kids for several hours :o)

This picture was just for fun! We may have a carpenter on our hands. His guitar wasn't working the other day and I caught him unscrewing all the screws to hold it together. He told me he was going to fix it..ha ha. He is so serious when he does these things!

"I'm not Laughing"

Really quick funny story....today my children were being a little bit crazy. Christopher told Lexi I was a playground and then proceeded to jump on top of me. Lexi was laughing at him, and I said to Christopher it's not funny stop jumping on me. Then my little "smart mouth" Christopher went on and told me with such a serious look on his face, "I'm not laughing". It was the truth he wasn't laughing, Lexi was....and even if no one was laughing they still had to of thought it was funny to keep doing it to me....that little boy of mine....what will I do with him? Sorry no picture, just a story I thought was amusing!

Rainy days!!!

Oh how I love rainy days! I love to sit inside and listen to the rain, to hear the thunder and lightning and then the kids making up stories of who is making the noise....angry clouds, sad clouds, etc. So I might as well catch ya up on the weekend, since I have nothing else to do! Saturday seemed very long...The kids and I got up and spent the morning awaiting a birthday party. Finally we got to leave and go and the kids very much enjoyed themselves at the party. When we were finished with the party we headed on over to grandmas. The kids always go over there and water the plants and play with their outside toys in grandmas backyard. Then we went inside and did puzzles, played jenga, and candy land (the Christopher and Lexi version). We ate pizza with grandma, and before we knew it, it was time to leave. We stopped at Henry's parents house so I could drop off something to his sister, and then finally off to our home. I stayed up making a few bows and watching some of my shows that I so desperately need to catch up on. Then on to Sunday....we were going to head out to Lowry park zoo...but we changed our minds and decided to stay in for the afternoon. Then the evening came around and we got dinner, then went out to St. Armands for a walk and a visit to my favorite place....Kilwins chocolate. We got a few treats to take with us and then some ice cream! Then off to home! And now we are back to today....just waiting for it to clear up outside. This evening I am taking my sister in law to go pick out a dress for her 8th grade dance...how exciting her first dance! Yay! Anyways glad it is raining, we can really use it!!!!

Tomato

Yesterday we did not leave the house. Not once, not even to check the mail or anything. When it was time to go to bed Christopher said, but we didn't go anywhere today. I had to explain to my children that we don't have to do something every single day. That sometimes it is nice to just stay inside :)....today I should have stayed inside as well! Well it was fine while we were out, but now, not so fun! We went to the beach and now we are home and I am burnt! The beach really was perfect though. There was no one there. It was empty. The sky was clear. The clouds literally circled the outside of the beach and where we were it was totally clear. The kids could walk right out to the sand bar. It was great! They played with their new beach toys and tried to make castles! They kept making runs back and forth with their buckets to fill with water...Christopher had trouble keeping much of his water actually in the pail, but they managed to get some back up to our spot! Well hopefully this redness will be gone shortly and we can be back out there. Oh and BTW the kids are not burnt...I always remember their sunscreen...I forgot about my face :)

Mother's day

What a wonderful day, a day to celebrate mommies! We started the day having breakfast at peaches! Then off to pick up a gift for Henry's mother...We had to pick up his sister to, so she could find something for her. Lexi was so cute, when we left the store she told me we didn't buy anything for me and we needed to because it was mothers day. I told her she needed to tell her daddy so they could go back and pick out something for me :). Then off to the Tampa International mall. We walked around there and looked, then had lunch and cookies. Then we had a BBQ at Henry's parents for dinner. Just a simple ordinary day, with some extra loven :o)

BTW......I made this dress :o)

Sewing!

I haven't blogged in the last few days because I have been so busy trying to learn some new crafty ways! It started with some bows, and then led to some shoes and then finally to a new pattern to sew. I have completely finished Lexi's 4th of july outfit ( I know it is only May)...I cant help myself! I made her some really cool corker shoes, and I got some cool fabric for a dress...the only thing that might change is her bows...I am thinking by July I might have figured out a new bow or something! So as for today...Last night I went to Jo-anns and bought some awesome fabric!!!! I made Lexi a reversible dress! I am so stocked I have figured it out. Oh and Btw....I got an early Mother's day gift. Henry came home with a bag and a card and said Happy Mothers day part one....I got a bag full of all kinds of scissors.....who knew scissors would make a girl happy! It was quite thoughtful b/c just the other night I was complaining about how I needed better scissors for my crafts! But I am not the type of person to just drop $15 or more on some dumb ol scissors (I'd just borrow Shannon's) So he got the "good" ones! That's why I love him, always thinking about me!!! Anyways so here are the pictures of todays dress....don't worry there will definitely be more of where these came from....also I think we may attempt another pattern (maybe) so be on the look out for some more!!!! Oh and BTW will some of you start having baby girls or something so I can make some baby shower gifts (dresses) everyone has boys :( Don't worry I haven't forgot about Christopher in all this girly stuff....I made him a car pillow :) and I bought him the same flip flops as Lexi...minus the corkers I added to it!
Oh and in doing this pattern I have learned how to do button holes with my sewing machine, and a hand stitch thingy! Also I may note that in doing this dress not once did I have to stop and fix my machine because I did something to it....I am well on my way of being an excellent sewer!

Cargo??

Ok excuse my dumbness here, but I think these things are called cargo holders or something (pictures explain it). Today we had cargo fun! What else can you do with a cargo holder than hold your stuff on top of your car when traveling? Well dad always knows these things :) You can make a swimming pool and then you can drag your kids around in it pulling it with the car!
What a wonderful Dad! He always comes up with the most fun ideas....although they are things I always question :o) So after helping dad all day at work, finally the kids are sleeping, and I am just about ready to crash....just hoping to clear up something I stirred up and maybe shouldn't have....Good night zzzzzzzzzzzz

Totally random

I am writing to just keep up with my blogging...nothing to exciting happened today...just another totally random day. We woke up and did our morning routine. Dad left for work, and then we left to do who knows what. We stopped by grandmas. The kids planted some plants, played with play dough, we ate lunch with grandma and then Lexi always does puzzles over there. I was getting ready to take the kids and go shopping and Lexi just couldn't resist inviting my mom along...She wanted my mom to go and buy more puzzles and when I said store she didn't realize grocery stores....so we took grandma to the store to buy more puzzles for Lexi. She got 4 more for Lexi to do over at her house tomorrow. Then we brought her back home and headed down to publix. I ABSOLUTELY hate going grocery shopping and put it off for as long as possible....2 weeks to about 20 days I go :) I always complain about going, but I just absolutely love all the fresh fruit and foods in the house afterwards!!! Then we stopped at home and put everything away. Then off to Bjs. I got all the things I needed there as well. On our way home Christopher tried to fall asleep....which I always try to prevent especially close to bed time...I told him look there's a school. He looked at me and said I am tired I am resting. Ha it was kinda cute....seeing how he was being horribly bad today (worse than his normal self)...Then home and to make dinner, and then to start my cake that I cant even eat until tomorrow when it is all the way done. Jello cake!!! You cook a white cake, then when it is done cooking you poke holes in it. ( I used a fork) Then you follow the directions on a jello box and make that. After it is made you pour it all over the top of the cake. Let it sit (mine will be over night) Then you can do two things...You can add pudding to the top, and then whip cream. Or just the whip cream. I am not doing the pudding this time, maybe next :) I cant wait to see how it turns out. I used Strawberry banana jello! Yum! Kids are asleep and I am just waiting for the hub to come on home. That was our day! Oh Oh one more thing I found some cheap ribbon today too...I bought 5 colors! Cant wait to try some new ideas!

Off in never neverland

I just realized (well before I made over my page) that I haven't blogged in quite some time. Lots of things going on in our home. The nice hot weather is here!!!! So we have been busy with the beach and outside playing, and anything to get us out of this house. I have been running around getting Lexi ready for preschool. Catching up on her shots, getting all the records I need, and now I am trying to find a good place to put her. I am on a hunt :) Also Lexi once again has double ear infections, that we caught by surprise at one of Christopher's Dr. appointments. Also she had to have blood work done to test for allergies. Then to top it off, in June she is having her hearing tested, not only for little speech delays, but she is a mouth breather and I think something is going on in there with fluid and such. Well to rest my mind we are having her tested. So hopefully I'll keep up a little better with the blogging....Until next time :P Good Day!!!

Wacky Wednesday

Such a random day...I woke up and decided to go and get Lexi caught up on all her shots. She is going to start preschool here soon and I need these all up to date in order for her to start. She had to get 4 of them! poor thing. She didn't even cry though. I couldn't believe it. Then when I was done I had to go to my moms and pick up my camera. I also stopped and looked at a house I saw online for sale, but it was definitely not what I was looking for. Then off to the house for lunch. Henry came home for lunch and then he wanted to go to the mall before he had to do a car at 4. So we went to the mall! We didn't find much, just some shoes for the kids at payless. Then Henry had to go to work. I could have either gone with him and helped or do something else. I decided to continue shopping. I ended up at several stores, and I came out buying 6 pairs of shoes, 6 complete outfits and two pairs of shorts. (All for the kids). My grand total with all places was only 150.84.....about 8 bucks was some scrapbook stuff from target. So how about that...Did I do good or what? I was truly amazed at myself. What a random, weird, good kinda day!

Terrific Tuesday

AHHHH. What a wonderful day! It truly was a terrific day! I absolutely LOVE rainy stormy days! The day started when my kids and I got to watch a butterfly come out of its chrysalis. It was really cool! Then I finally got to eat Olive Garden! I have been wanting to eat there and Shannon was complaining about having to be stuck inside all day because of the rain so I decided I was going to go to Olive Garden and invited her along. I said I would NEVER go out with her and her three kids to lunch....Just makes me nervous with too many kids, but it went rather well. We even got compliments on how well behaved our kids were. Then over to Jo-anns for Shannon to get some fabric, and then home. I stopped at the gas station on the way home. I bought a scratch off and I won 100 bucks!! Wahoo! I know it isn't much, but I was truly excited! heh heh! Then to cook dinner...and finally to finish the night off with baths, stories, and then catching up on some of my shows!! YAAA BABY!!!

Manic Monday

As far as Mondays go....this surely was a crazy one! I was exhausted Sunday night after all the Easter fun, and just did not want to wake up. Well eventually I had to. So, up I was. Now what to do first? Well I checked emails and such....trying to waste time so I didn't have to do what needed to be done. Eventually I fed the kids lunch and out the door we went. First, trip to BJ's. I usually do a Bj's trip about every ten days or so to stock up on some foods, but this trip was a much needed bigger trip. We not only needed food, I needed to get toilet paper, stock up on soaps, deodorants, and such..you know the bulky stuff! Off to home to carry up the cold stuff. I leave the really big stuff and things that don't need to be refrigerated for Henry to bring up when he gets home :) Things got put away, and then off to Super Walmart. I don't normally grocery shop here, but I wanted to try it out! It was great. I got a ton of things! I even got a bunch of Easter candy 50% off...wahoo! Off to home again to put everything else away...oh ya in the mean time I had a package to pick up at the office....my laptop came in...SWEET!!! I got home and put the groceries away, and then just had to turn the laptop on and test things out! Then it was time to make dinner....I made it, we ate. After dinner I then cleaned the whole entire house, mop, bleach, scrub brush and all! JOY! After this, I debated on whether or not to go and do laundry.....it was 8:30 already, but I didn't want to do it tomorrow, so I decided sure do it now, and tomorrow you can relax!! It is done, all the laundry finished! Tomorrow I will indeed relax! That was my Manic Monday!
Now the kids the whole day were not on their best behavior. It seems the days where I need to be doing things and cant mend to their every need they just mis behave ALL day. I could not sit and watch cartoons, read books, play princess bingo, yada yada. When they were supposed to be cleaning their room, they were hitting each other, whining and complaining. In the stores they kept asking when we were leaving, and if we were done yet, because it was taking too long. Dinner time, UGH, Lexi just had a fit because I made her eat her salad. Plus all day all I heard is how they wanted to eat more candy, more candy! Well it is over and tomorrow should be terrific!

What's that in my belly button?

YES! It was absolutely amazing! There we were heading down Siesta Drive, and Lexi felt it! For the first time, and no one even told her! When we were little literally EVERY Saturday morning my mom took us 3 younger kids to the beach with her. Like before everyone got there. We would stay all morning, eat lunch, and then stop at McDonalds and get ice cream on the way home. Well on the drive to and from there is a little "bump" when you go over it fast enough you get a tickle in your stomach. We were going over it heading to the beach and Lexi felt it! She had a tickle in her belly and said what is that in my belly button. It made me smile. It was a small little thing we always did growing up and made a big deal over going fast over the bump, and now my kids can do it! I love it! We were out there to collect some shells and sand for my mom to take to Utah for Lyse's class. I shoulda realized when I took them that we were not going to get out of there dry. We started collecting the shells by the water, and slowly but surely they both ended up fully in the water! They loved it, I forgot how much they loved the sand and water since we hadn't been out there all winter! We will definitely be making some more trips out there more frequently!
Later on that night when I was driving home from Jamie's I got pulled over!!!! I knew I was speeding just a little bit, and just couldn't believe I got pulled over though. It was 11 o clock at night and I still hadn't taken my heart rate medicine, so my heart was racing quite fast b/c I was nervous! I seriously was worried for myself (lol) anyways he knocked on my window and I rolled it down. He said I am so and so with the Sarasota County deputies office, do you know why I pulled you over? I said no (heh heh) and he told me I had a light out! PHEW! That was it, a stupid light out in front! He let me go with a warning and told me to get it fixed right away b/c I could have gotten a 100 dollar ticket! So Henry and I went to Walmart at 12 in the morning and bought a new light and fixed it right away! NO TICKETS FOR ME!!! wahoo! Then we went out dancing! My mom had both the kids alone for the first time by herself over night! Then Sunday morning I picked them up, and we hung out with Dad all day. We went to the mall and to a few other stores. We stopped at his parents for him to eat some thing they made from his country, and I did his sisters hair! Then off to home and to bed! We have all been a little under the weather the last few days, antibiotics and all, so we have been having early nights! Then that leads us to today! Nothing special going on today, just went and ate lunch at the mall with dad on his lunch break, made a few store stops, and then home. At one store I bought the kids new "learning books" Lexi came home and practiced her letters, and Christopher his shapes! Cant wait until Lexi is in real school and learning these things from a teacher! That's it Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, summed up in one blog :)

The patient

It was 5 am....I was suddenly awakened...I thought to say out loud Lexi, go back to your bed, but it was Christopher. You see, my children are not aloud in our bed. On occasion we will let them stay in our bed in the middle of the night, but most nights we do not. It is not a habit we want them to pick up. Lexi is the one I am ALWAYS sending back to her room in the middle of the night. If Christopher is coming to my room there has to be a reason. I saw it was him and let him stay. I noticed he was tossing and turning and not going to sleep, so I decided to wake up (be fully alert). He was breathing funny. It didn't seem like he could catch his breath, then he started coughing (barking like a seal really). I then took him out of the bed put him in the bathroom with steaming water running, put vicks on him and gave him some medicine. This is not the first time this has happened to Christopher. It actually happened quite frequently when he was much younger, hadn't happened for a while. He then told me he wanted to watch cartoons. So I let him. This started the day of me catering to his every need. He was now the "patient". I got up and got him his every demand. I felt bad because I know he felt horrible. Come 11 o'clock though he was unbearable and I made him take a nap. He was just getting too whining and wouldn't let me leave his side. So he slept!! YAY!!! When he woke up he was as good as new. It was like he was never sick. He coughed a few more times during the day and his nose ran a little bit. He was still whiny and I felt bad still so I did as he wanted and let the bad things he did slide today making him one day full of excuses. We hung out with grandma for a little bit. Saw dadda at work. Met up with a friend for a quick exchange. Came home made dinner, and a cake! Christopher was still pushing his luck, he didn't even eat his dinner and I told him if he ate a banana he could have cake.
Now does this look like a boy who was sick today? Eating cake with milk all over his face. He blew bubbles so hard that is splattered in his face. I didn't even get mad at the horrible mess I had to clean up, all because he was sick today.

Otalgia

Today started off normal just like any other day. We got up, ate breakfast, Dadda left for work and we were to entertain ourselves. I had read the kids some books and we played with cars and barbies, and then Mommy needed some "computer time". While I was sitting at the computer Lexi came over and told me she needed a drink and rested her head on me. At this time I felt her and she was a little warm. I wasn't concerned and I told her that we would check her temperature in just a few minutes. I got her, her drink and had her get the thermometer. She had a little fever so I gave her Tylenol. Then about an hour later she told me that her ear hurt. I touched it and sure enough I knew she had an ear infection. So I called the pediatrician, and they couldn't get me in today I would have to wait until the morning. So I decided to try another Dr. and they had an appointment for me within 45 minutes. So I said sure and I booked it, but then I realized I had no car......Henry had mine again. So I called Shannon, and she said I could use her car, but little did she know, while she was packing up her kids Levi said his ear hurt too. So she called and had an appointment an hour after me. So off we were to my appointment. Fortunately I was in and out in 30 minutes. This Dr. was great. Lexi had a horrible right ear infection and the left ear was looking a little rough. He noticed her eyes were getting a little poofy so he prescribed her something a little stronger so it wouldn't turn into a sinus infection (something she has had times before). And for the exciting news...the Dr. let me look in her ear and see what an infected ear looked like! HOW COOL! The other pediatrician NEVER let me do that! I musta looked a little crazy when I got excited and was like really can I look? LoL the things that make me happy these days :) Looking at an infected ear brought me joy today (sorry Lexi). Anyway and then off to Shannon's Pediatrician....And it is official two of her kids had ear infections as well! What a day! Everything happened later today, due to these little mystery ears..and to top it off, I didn't do Laundry like I wanted to. Tomorrow morning I am going to be one busy lady with the laundry! oh and BTW, didn't know if you were wondering what otalgia means.....just a big word I learned studying...it means "ear pain". I am one smart cookie!!

Fun filled!

The last 2 days have been full of fun in our family! It started with Friday. A day with lunch at the playground, a trip to the mall, and don't forget a cookie for the kids (thanks Shannon). Then into Friday night, we went fishing! Our first official fishing trip since the cold weather! We go on these often! Lexi however was not happy to go, for some reason she was convinced she would fall in and Sharks would eat her. I don't know where she learned this, but she got over it once she familiarized herself with where we were. She was having fun and fishing away...we were finally done at 12:30am and caught absolutely nothing!!!!!! Oh well! It was still fun!
So then up early we were for this morning! We had lots to do today. We had to go to my mom's church to learn about Easter and do an egg hunt! They did two lessons on why we have Easter. They also made their own bunny baskets and made candy necklaces. Then at the end was the adventurous egg hunt! Lexi knew right what to do, get in and and get as many eggs as you can. Christopher however wanted to open what he found to see what was in it, but then caught on he better get more first! Then after we were done at grandma's church we had to make our way over to Yoders. Today they had an Easter bunny and live bunnies. They had someone taking pictures of you with the bunnies. Can't wait to see what they look like so I can order some! I also managed to sneak in a picture myself with Lexi and the Easter bunny! Christopher was absolutely not having the Easter bunny this year. I think this was the same age Lexi decided she didn't like Santa or the Easter bunny, so I only caught a shot with him and Lexi. Oh well we will have many many more years of Easter bunny pictures!

Laid back week

So far for this week, in our home, things have been pretty laid back. Nothing to exciting going on here. Kids have been good, except for a few minor incidents, but nothing truly horrible. Henry sold his Mazda (finally) I was beginning to think I would see that car forever. Now for the hunt of finding him something else. He has been taking my car to work with him, so obviously I have been stuck inside. There are days that I never leave my home when I do have my car, but the thought of not being able to leave is a little different than not wanting to. I did some grocery shopping and made sure we had every thing in the house so I wouldn't need to leave. We have just spent our days coloring, learning the alphabet, reading books (over and over) and of course trying out new things with Lexi's hair. This has definitely been enjoyable for me!
Today we did Lexi's nails......
This is something she begs for me to do often! She always wants me to do the french tips, not just one solid color anymore! Also here are some more of the hair styles I have tried the last few days!

Superb Saturday

What a wonderful Saturday! I cant believe what a breeze today was! The kids were both on their best behavior today! YES!! FINALLY! A day where their father came home from work and I could just tell him they were both good and I was so proud! We made our way over to Shannon's house this morning so we could do our condo cleaning routine. Shannon and I found some cool ideas to do with the girls hair! So I put it to action, first Lexi and then Alivia! I tried this one out...and maybe tomorrow or in a few days I'll give another one a try :) It was quite fun actually! I am usually not one for patience with things like this, but I liked what I accomplished :o) So hair was done, for both the girls and the boys, and so now what to do? Well we attempted a new recipe....it was eh...okay, something just wasn't right with it, it was certainly rich and edible, but next week we will have at another recipe!
Now for the story that makes you chuckle.....Yesterday at Grandmas the kids planted sunflower seeds and tomato seeds. Sometime between the time we left yesterday and 7 oclock tonight when I went over there again she must have went to the store and bought a tomato. Lexi came in and said in a very excited voice, "We got one!" She thought that they had already grown a tomato!! Ha cute huh?

TGIF!!!!

Every other Friday Grandma has off from work so we usually make our way over there to see what she is up to. This Friday however we had plans for the fair! The kids and I have already been, but grandma didn't go yet. So once again we were back at the fair! We did the typical fair stuff once again! This time though the kids didn't do the rides. Christopher had to point out every ride we walked by that he didn't go on last time and tell me he needed to go on that one, but I had to explain to him we weren't doing rides this time. He didn't like that idea to much, but then got over it when I told him he could play more games. They played some games, ate some cotton candy, and walked around and looked. The kids also got to see the Pig races that we don't miss out on EVER! My darling little Christopher screamed as the pigs were racing "TAKE A PICTURE" so I let him take the camera out of my purse and this is what we got....We looked some more, bought some things, some more junk, and then off to Grandmas. The kids did puzzles, played candy land, played with play dough, and then we got pizza for dinner! That was basically the day! Now, just to add a little funny story. The kids both won fish last time we were at the fair....unfortunately they died (too bad..wink wink). Well like I said in a previous blog Christopher likes to tell me the toilet is talking to me....well today he told me the fish that we flushed were talking to me and he walked around the bathroom talking in a "fish" language...pretty funny, one for the book!
I was reading back on my blogs b/c I noticed I am favoring Christopher's stories these days....not that Lexi doesn't have any good ones, it is just that for the last few weeks Lexi and I have been bumping heads. My days are not filled with laughter from her, instead I seem to be putting soap in her mouth or putting her in her room just about every day. I thought that I had put a stop to her bad behavior, but today she managed to mess it all up. These days Lexi has turned into a little sassy mouth. I catch her saying things to me like who cares, or yes I can, or no I wont. Her other big favorite thing to do is LIE!!! This irks me. If you do something wrong just tell me, we will fix it, maybe go to time out and that's it. But Lexi lies, and then I put soap in her mouth for doing it. It happened a little over a week ago and then again today. I know they say girls are easier as babies than boys, but then get hardier as they get older, but I didn't think they meant that at the age of 4 1/2 I would be so concerned for her drama filled days. She doesn't take her punishments well and has a drama fit! When you punish Christopher he does his time out (by no means perfectly) with no crazy drama crying. Lexi just has a look of like oh my goodness how could you possibly put me, precious Lexi, in time out! She has started to ignore both her father and myself if we have punished her. Well we had another serious conversation (had one last week and it seemed to calm things down until today that is) and I hope this time it works! Well like I said TGIF, the weekend is here, and now time to spend with Dad!

Yes, it is that time of year again! The fair. I tell you what, every year I am so excited to go, and this year was no different! I LOVE their food! YUM!!!!! So typical Sunday, we just hung out inside with dad, and waited for the sun to go down! (Dad doesn't like the sun). And then off we went! We got there and just walked around a bit, and then decided to let the kids ride the rides! So for Lexi's experience... She enjoyed a variety of rides, and didn't mind trying most of them out...that was until.....The motorcycle ride...something about her being tied with a rope around her chest and then being jerked when the ride first started, was not her idea of fun...after this experience she was very selective on what she chose to ride. And now for my daring, courageous Mr. Christopher....He tends to be more like his mother ;) He enjoyed everyride. We would walk around even by the big rides and he would want to ride them all (Ring of Fire, Scorpion, etc.) There was one that he got on that took him a bit for surprise, I didn't think he would go on it...but he did.
Then it was off to walking, eating, games, more walking, more eating and more games. The kids each won a few prizes, and even each won their own fish. We ate your usual funnel cakes, fresh squeezed lemonade, pizza, corn dogs, etc. Then off to home we went. Dirty, tired, and exhausted!! Wait though, my fair days are not over...I have to do this all over again with my mother on Friday!!! ahhhhh!!!!!

Kids say the funniest things

I have been cracking up lately at the things Christopher says. He is quite the little comical man around here these days. Every morning without fail he yells "mommy" really loud...in a funny voice. Well, he is yelling it in the bathroom. He just needs to hear me say you can wipe it. Then sometimes I get a response, "I have diarrhea". That means I have to go in and wipe....Today I had to go in and wipe :) When I went in the water was running in the toilet, and he says to me, "Do you hear that"? I told him yes, and he told me the toilet was talking to me! What a funny little boy! One more thing the other day he said something that only his daddy would be proud of. When the kids hurt themselves dad always thinks it is funny to check the chair and floor or whatever it is they hurt themselves with and be like be careful guys you're going to break my floor. The kids don't ever get it and certainly don't think it is funny, and I have tried to explain it to him that it isn't funny, but he insists on doing it. Christopher was getting into the car and hit his knee on the side, and he was like oh man I almost broke the car. I laughed because I think he gets the joke now. Anyways I hadn't blogged for a few days so I thought I would share a funny story. Nothing to exciting going on around here.

Curiosity

My children are such curious creatures. They question and wonder about things I cant even imagine explaining to them at such a young age. Last week Lexi wanted to know where all the people come from. Then today Mr. Christopher was checking out my belly button and said "babies go in there". I chuckled and then just let it be, thinking to myself why was he thinking this now? Then a few brief seconds later he asked "how do babies go in there?" I smiled and paused, thinking what do I say, then I just said mommies and daddies make them. He liked that answer and left it be. Then his sister walked out of her room and he had to tell her "Lexi, daddy puts babies in there." Their little minds always seem to make me snicker. The picture.....Just thought I would share what my children found comical today.

Also I wanted to share this with whoever, I found these today and to much of my amazement, I did not know some of these things....maybe you did?

*Elephants are the only animals that can't jump.
*Women blink twice as often as men.
*It's physically impossible to lick your elbow. (Did you just try?)
*No English word rhymes with month.
*Our eyes remain the same size from birth, but our noses and ears keep growing.
*The shortest complete sentence in English is "Go."
*The average life span of a major league baseball is seven pitches

The Funnies

Oh what a day! Today was one of those days were I just needed to get a bunch of things done around the house. I had no time to play with my children today. I needed to start studying. I needed to cook and clean. I needed to get things done. My children did not like this. They fought all day long. They were so mean to each other. I dont know how many time out and spankings I had to hand out. I lost track. To top off the bad behavior, out of no where Lexi got a fever. 101 when I checked it and gave her some tylenol. Now it is gone, mysteriously it has left....hopefully it wont be back in the middle of the night. She seems fine, but Lexi is the fever child. They creep up on her out of no where, and come and go at all hours. Just when I thought the bad day was going to turn into a bad night, something happened they got the funnies.

They always know what to do or say to weezle their way out of time out. I was so frustrated at them that I sent them both to their room and told them not to come out until I said it was ok. They did indeed come out before I said, but this is how they looked when they came out. How could I not laugh. I decided to stop everything I was doing and we played a litttle while. I'll finish it when they go to bed.

Million Dollar Man

We made our way on over to the other end of town yesterday. I had to be at my mom's house to help her out with car troubles. We made dadda lunch and brought it to him and then waited for it to be 3:30 so we could meet the mechanic at my mom's house. Looks like everything was fine, just a really bad oil change. Then back to daddas work to finish up one last car. Henry and his dad detail a variety of cars. They do your typical toyota, nissan, lexus, etc. But then there is also your higher end vehicles, such as vipers, mercedes, porsches, etc. There is one man in particular that comes just about every day to have his vehicles detailed. Henry's dad typically does his cars. He gives him nice tips on top of the pay to clean it! Yesterday he stopped in to pick up his viper. He saw the kids and asked Henry's dad if they were his grand kids....of course he said yes, and then what happened next...if only, if only I could some day do this, be this way...He gave each of my children a 20 dollar bill! I couldn't believe it. They said thank you and gave the man a hug (dad made them do the hug part). I couldn't believe it. To have that much money to give a 3 and 4 year old 20 bucks for nothing! There is another man that gets his cars detailed there (not as high end as the other man) and he made a comment after the other gentleman left. He said, "Man I thought I did good by giving your kids a quarter yesterday." Ha, we all laughed, how funny! We told him it was okay, he wasn't a millionaire and we would let it pass this time ;) If only, if only I had this kind of money.

Short and Simple

Short and Simple, right to the point. Just for the record my blogs are mine. I will write as I feel in a way I feel to write. I will not ever be fake or lie or write things because I know others are reading to try and impress some or make myself something I am not. I am not a spiritual person and I do not on a daily basis quote the bible...occasional bible talk comes up here and there. Dont get me wrong I am not against people who are truly spiritual and enjoy bible quoting, it is just not my personal doing. But for this particular "blog" I wanted to quote one verse. Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are abomination to the lord: but they that deal truly are his delight. So I would like to be the Lords delight. In accomplishing this my blogs will be true and I will write as is.

Now for the day....Just a typical Sunday around here. Got up, made pancakes, went to the flea market (had Jose with us, first time he went). We got lunch, bought our fruit, and then off we went. We usually stop over at Henry's family's house, and today was no exception. We stopped at the store first, bought some steaks, and cooked meat on the grill. Well the boys did, I sat at the computer :) About 7 oclock rolled around. We went home, cleaned the kids up, put pjs on, and then watched some t.v. Then it was 9 and off to bed the kids went! Time for lost now! That was the day, nothing out of the ordinary. Short and simple!

Last day in February

Well, I am starting to blog! I have been suckered in. I was persuaded mainly by reading others blogs, and hoping some day I to could write like these other bloggers. Such wonderful stories and excitement go into blogs!

So here it is, my first official blog.

The Love month was full of such excitement between valentines day, craft making and of course scrapbooking! I seem to go in and out of the "crafty" mood. I enjoy very much making Lexi cute little outfits and bows, but then I get bored of it. After all was said and done with the month, February was not quite done with me....I still hadn't scrapbooked February let alone January. So the inevitable had to be done, I had to scrapbook January. I gathered all the pictures and supplies I bought last month (thinking I would do it then), and headed on over to the scrapbook Godess's house. But you know of course Shannon hasn't gotten supplies, let alone her pictures printed yet, so after a day of strawberry picking and supply buying, we finally started our scrapbook for the year. Up late into the night we had to call it quits. Which then leads me to today. Continuing our last pages for January. There I was again, off with all my stuff on over to Shannons. The kids played outside pretty much a good part of the day while Shannon and I sat cutting and glueing away. Before we knew it, it was lunch time. All scarfed down hotdogs, and then off to spiral stickers, rub ons, and punches! Then time to part for our Saturday night family time. The kids and I enjoyed spending some time with grandma at her house. Then off to our home we went. Wait Wait...the scrapbooking fun was NOT over. I still had to finish one more page before February ended so I wouldn't be 2 months behind. Off to scrapbook land I went. Finally finished! January is done. Hurray for me! Oh and by the way scrapbooking is kind of newish to me. I get really excited when I do a good page and I have come to learn more and more on how to do clever things to my page from the scrapbook bible(a book Shannon owns). Well that pretty much sums up february and my day, and now that leads us to my new blogging adventure, and how it is 2 am and I am going to be very upset at myself for staying up this late tomorrow. GOOD NIGHT BLOGGER BUDDIES!
